Life, liberty and the pursuit of a really good sandwich

Video

Here are a few samples of videos I have helped written and in which I am an actor.

48 Hour Shootout

Each year, Ohio University’s School of Media Arts & Studies hosts a film competition in which the contestants must produce a 5-minute piece in 48 hours or less. Each group is randomly assigned a genre, a prop and a line of dialogue that must be included in the film. These are the entries that groups I participated in submitted.
Snacth’d

The third place winner of the 2007 48-Hour Shootout, our genre was musical, prop was construction paper and line of dialogue was “Man, it looks like a tornado went through here.” The group consisted entirely of freshmen students.
In The Gutter

The second place winner of the 2008 48-Hour Shootout, our genre was comedy, prop was headache medicine and line of dialogue was “You mean he’s your brother?”
Red Planet Hollywood

Our genre was drama, our prop was a hairbrush and our line of dialogue was “Just tell me how you feel.”
Dirty Laundry

The third place winner of the 2010 48-Hour Shootout, our genre was soap opera, our prop was a hangar and our line of dialogue was “I’m so tired”. I also designed the Baby Hollywood logo seen briefly before the beginning of the film.

2010 Bateman competition

As a part of my senior capstone PR course, Journalism 472, my group participated in PRSSA’s 2010 Bateman Competition. This year, the 2010 Census was the client, with teams around the country writing and implementing public relations plans on behalf of the Census Bureau. For our group, I wrote, directed, produced, acted in and edited a series of 30 second spots that eventually aired on the local television station. Each video targeted a different aspect of our key messages.
